After years in this industry we kept seeing the same pattern: monitoring projects take too long and cost too much. Usually not because the technology is hard, but because it arrives wrapped in software built for far bigger companies, a lot of meetings and bureaucracy, and months before anyone sees a number on a dashboard.

We think a company with twenty machines should be able to see and control them as well as a company with two thousand. We do that by combining our own hands-on experience with a small group of technology partners we have worked with for years and know to be reliable in the field.

Implementation partners

We work with implementation partners who install our trackers on customer machines. They do more than fit hardware: they keep the contact with the customer close and practical, and they think along about what a machine actually needs to measure and control.

FrontControl replaces the traditional button box found on many machines with a single unit that combines a PLC and an HMI screen — compact and rugged enough for a wide range of mobile machines. Everything runs over CANbus on standardised modules, so a manufacturer gets a custom fit without starting from scratch.

Like old.iotz.io, they write their own software for their customers and think along rather than simply sell hardware. A FrontControl unit can be fitted with an old.iotz.io tracker, which makes the machine readable and controllable remotely over that same CANbus connection.

It is widely used in production environments and offers the flexibility needed to build reliable, multi-tenant IoT solutions. We use ThingsBoard as a core part because it enables us to deliver stable, extensible, and data-driven dashboards without compromising performance or scalability.

Through Gurtam’s ecosystem, including their backend infrastructure solutions, we work with a highly flexible and reliable IoT data handling platform. Their technology is designed for large-scale tracking and telematics applications, and we have experienced strong technical support and responsiveness from their team. This makes it a valuable part of our backend infrastructure for real-time device communication and data processing.

Teltonika is a long-established IoT hardware manufacturer with extensive experience in GPS tracking, industrial connectivity, and telematics devices. We maintain direct contact with their team and have consistently found their hardware to be reliable, well-documented, and suitable for industrial deployments. Their devices form a strong foundation for robust and scalable field installations.

Our infrastructure is hosted in Hetzner data centers, a trusted European cloud and hosting provider known for strong performance and reliability. We use Hetzner to ensure that old.iotz.io runs on stable, high-performance infrastructure within Europe, while maintaining full control over data residency, latency, and scalability.
